Great Gift Idea #2: A Song of Ice & Fire Leather Bound Book Set – Review
But, if the person you’re buying the gift for (or yourself, that’s okay too) loves Game of Thrones then this leather book set might be the perfect gift for them. You know for the “true fan” of the HBO show or books. To put it simply, this set of books is stunning to look at and would be a terrific edition to any person’s collection.
Here’s What’s Included.
You get the first 5 books in the A Song of Ice & Fire series.
- A Game of Thrones
- A Clash of Kings
- A Storm of Swords
- A Feast for Crows
- A Dance with Dragons
The Game of Thrones novels are all exquisitely wrapped in leather-cloth covers and packaged in its own beautiful display case. This is truly a one-of-a-kind set. They may be a bit smaller than what you’d expect, but I find they are conveniently sized (yes, they can easily be held) and I like the fact they don’t take up a lot of room on the shelf.
What’s most striking about the books are the gorgeous colors. And they don’t just look good, they feel good too. The books have a nice heft to them and are very good quality.
Careful Who You’re Giving It Too
If you’re a parent or grandparent, and are not familiar with the Game of Throne’s story, then here’s a bit of caution: These books are not for children. They are fantasy, but they are adult in nature. There are horrific scenes of brutality (in all forms, not just killing) and sexuality. With that said, they are a terrific read for mature audiences who can distinguish fiction from real-life.
Gift Idea #1: Game of Thrones Risk Board Game
Gift Idea #4: Game of Thrones Wall Art
Gift Idea #5: Game of Thrones Set of Wax Seal House Sigil Coasters
Gift Idea #6: Game of Thrones Dragon Eggs
“The only fantasy series I’d put on a level with J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings . . . It’s a fantasy series for hip, smart people, even those who don’t read fantasy.”—Chicago Tribune
“Martin has produced—is producing, since the series isn’t over—the great fantasy epic of our era. It’s an epic for a more profane, more jaded, more ambivalent age than the one Tolkien lived in.”—Lev Grossman, Time
“Long live George Martin . . . a literary dervish, enthralled by complicated characters and vivid language, and bursting with the wild vision of the very best tale tellers.”—The New York Times
The bottom line is that this leather bound novel set makes a perfect gift for the ultimate Game of Thrones fan. And when you compare the price to the set of paperback novels, the price difference is pretty nominal.
